Scenarios for setting up and configuring full-text search
This section provides scenarios on how to deploy the full-text
search feature by using the Rational®
ClearQuest® Full-Text
Search Administrator tool.
- Enabling full-text search on the SAMPL database
Enable full-text search on the out-of-the-box Rational ClearQuest SAMPL database to learn about configuring the feature and its capabilities. - Enabling full-text search on production databases
Planning is critical to ensuring a successful full-text search deployment. - Changing the display field for indexed record types
You can change the display field in full-text search results for indexed record types without re-indexing. - Enabling full-text search on additional databases
The procedure for enabling full-text search on additional databases in your deployment is the same as the procedure for enabling this feature on the SAMPL database. - Adding record types to the search index
You can add record types to the full-text search index so that these record types are searchable. - Removing record types from the search index
You can remove record types from the full-text search index so that these record types are no longer searchable. - Adding fields to indexed record types
You can add fields to indexed record types so that these fields are searchable. - Removing fields from indexed record types
You can remove fields from indexed record types so that these fields are no longer searchable. - Enabling full-text search in a load-balanced deployment
After you enable full-text search on an Rational ClearQuest database, all load-balanced Rational ClearQuest Web servers in your deployment are enabled for the feature. Test full-text search to determine if you need to perform any additional steps to get the feature to work. - Setting up full-text search in a Rational ClearQuest MultiSite deployment
Setting up full-text search in an Rational ClearQuest MultiSite deployment is similar to the other scenarios discussed in this section. You set up one full-text search server to serve all of the Rational ClearQuest MultiSite servers. The primary difference is that you must deploy full-text search on the master replica. - Upgrading or reinstalling Rational ClearQuest in a full-text search deployment with multiple WebSphere profiles
IBM® Installation Manager does not recognize the WebSphere® Application Server profiles associated with the full-text search feature. Consequently, if you plan to upgrade or reinstall Rational ClearQuest, use the cqtsadmin.pl command to back up and delete these profiles. After upgrading or reinstalling Rational ClearQuest, use the cqtsadmin.pl command again to restore the profiles. - Enabling full-text search on a non-English database
Enable full-text search on your non-English Rational ClearQuest user database by editing the Solr schema.xml file to use the appropriate language analyzer. - Upgrading Solr to the latest version supported by Rational ClearQuest
You can upgrade Solr to the latest version supported by Rational ClearQuest. This is useful when the Solr version in your deployment is older than the version that Rational ClearQuest supports.
