Changing the state of a record
You can change the state of a state-based record if at
least one change-state action is defined in the schema.
About this task
Someone with the Super User privilege uses the Designer to define state-transition rules. All change-state actions appear on the record form toolbar.
To change the state of a state-based record:
Procedure
- While viewing a record, click Change State on the record form toolbar and select one of the change-state actions (for example, Assign, Close, or Postpone). The record transitions to the selected state and it appears in edit mode.
- Edit the record form. Labels associated with mandatory fields and the tabs on which they appear are indicated by red text.
- Click Save.
