Using the License Key Administrator command line

To automate licensing, your administrator might have you use License Key Administrator (LKAD) from the command window.

About this task

To specify a single, multiple, or redundant license server from the command line:
  1. Move the text file that your administrator gives you to any directory.
  2. Open a command window and navigate to that directory.
  3. Enter the following command:

    licadmin2 -fserver-info.txt

    where server-info.txt is the text file that contains the license server information.

The results of this command are written to the status file server-info.txt_STATUS. The status file is created in the directory where you executed the licadmin command.
