Prepare your environment before upgrading

Before upgrading the Rational® ClearQuest® feature level or metaschema version, make sure that the schema is checked in and that the database is unlocked.

To prevent failures when upgrading the feature level or metaschema version, review Table 1 to make sure your Rational ClearQuest environment is prepared for the upgrade process.

A Rational ClearQuest schema is checked out.	Check in your Rational ClearQuest schema.
Your Rational ClearQuest database is locked.	To unlock the database, run the Rational ClearQuest installutil unlockschemarepo and installutil unlockuserdb commands.
