Prerequisite planning for installing Rational ClearQuest

Information about installing Rational® ClearQuest®.

Before installing Rational ClearQuest clients and servers, make sure you are prepared:

Complete Rational ClearQuest installation planning including prerequisite tasks.
Understand how to install and use IBM® technologies for product installation.
Review installation scenario walkthroughs to learn about effective strategies for planning and using IBM processes and tools to download and install IBM software in different environments.
Consider printing installation checklist and planning topics so you can consult them during the installation process.

Note: IBM ClearCase 9.0.2.x and IBM ClearQuest 9.0.2.x use a new Java version that is not compatible with the default Java version supplied with the IBM WebSphere Application Server profiles. Therefore, you must install IBM WebSphere SDK Java Technology version 8.0 or higher on hosts where you plan to install server features. For more details, see the technote IBM ClearCase 9.0.2.x and IBM ClearQuest 9.0.2.x Web server features require a compatible IBM WebSphere SDK Java Technology version.
