Checklist of administrator tasks on Linux and UNIX systems

Post-installation tasks for administrators on Linux and UNIX systems are required to configure Rational® ClearQuest® server and client components hosted on these platforms.
Depending on which Rational ClearQuest components are installed and configured, Linux and UNIX systems can provide these Rational ClearQuest services:
  • Administer and run the Rational ClearQuest Web server and web application to provide access to Rational ClearQuest repositories through a web-based interface.
  • Administer a Rational ClearQuest MultiSite environment.
  • Provide access to the Rational ClearQuest Client for users who work solely on Linux and UNIX system platforms.
  • Integrate with DevOps Code ClearCase®, both base and UCM versions.
Note: You can also host the database management systems for your Rational ClearQuest deployment on the Linux and UNIX platform. For more information, see Plan your Rational ClearQuest database set architecture.
On a Linux or UNIX host, you can administer only Rational ClearQuest MultiSite and Rational ClearQuest Web server and web application. You must administer other Rational ClearQuest components such as Rational ClearQuest Administrative Tools and the Rational ClearQuest Designer from the Windows administrative host.

Depending on Rational ClearQuest services that the Linux or UNIX host is providing, complete the tasks in Table 1.
