Changing the location of the floating license on Windows

If you installed the Rational License Key Server before you received your floating license, or if you move your floating license to a different folder, you must modify the license manager using the LMTOOLS utility.

Procedure

  1. Copy your floating license file to a folder on the license server machine. Note the location of the license file.
  2. Click Start > All Programs > IBM Rational > IBM Rational License Key Server > LMTOOLS.
  3. The LMTOOLS window opens.
  4. Click Config Services.
  5. Click Browse next to the Path to the license file box. Browse to the folder that contains the floating license file.
  6. Select the file and click Open.
  7. Click Start/Stop/Reread. Saving the changes when prompted.
  8. Click Start Server. The IBM Rational License Key Server is started.
