Security Options page
Settings on the Security Option page take effect immediately; there is no need to restart the server. However, only subsequent Rational ClearQuest Web application sessions reflect these changes. Existing web application sessions continue to use the settings that were in effect when the sessions started.
Table 1 describes the controls on the Security Option page.
Control | Description | Default value |
---|---|---|
Restrict Site | If selected, all users run in restricted mode
when accessing the web site. This selection overrides any specifications
in the Restricted Users and Restricted
User Groups options, described next. If cleared, all users can access the web site, subject to the restrictions specified in the remaining options on the page. |
cleared |
Restricted Users | Users specified in this field can only access
the web site in restricted mode. Important: User names
are case sensitive and must match those specified in the User Administration
tool.
If no names are specified, all users can access this site, subject to the settings of the Restrict Site and Restricted User Groups options. |
none |
Restricted User groups | Users who are a member of a user group specified
in this field can only access the web site in restricted mode. Important: User-group names are case sensitive and must match
those specified in the User Administration tool.
If no groups are specified, all members of all groups can access this site, subject to the settings of the Restrict Site and Restricted Users options. |
none |
Restricted Query | If a query is specified, users who are running
in restricted mode can access only this query, unless Allow
Workspace Access When Restricted is also selected. When Allow
Workspace Access When Restricted is also selected, the
query specified in this field is overwritten. To specify a query, use the path to the query relative to the underlying schema workspace (for example, Public Queries/My Defects). If no query is specified, users running in restricted mode have no queries available. |
none |
Allow Find Record When Restricted | If selected, users who are running in restricted
mode can use the By ID search feature to access
records. If cleared, the By ID search selection for users who are running in restricted mode is disabled. |
cleared |
Allow Modify Record When Restricted | If selected, users who are running in restricted
mode can use the Modify button on the toolbar
to modify records. If cleared, users running in restricted mode cannot see the Modify button. |
cleared |
Allow Workspace When Restricted | If selected, the Restricted Query option is disabled and users can see the entire workspace. Use this option in conjunction with setting up workspace folder security policies. | cleared |
Allow Modify User Profile When Restricted | If selected, users who are running in restricted
mode can modify their user profile. If cleared, users who are running in restricted mode cannot modify their user profile. |
cleared |
Disable Persistent Cookies | If selected, storing persistent cookies on client computers is disabled. Important: Disabling
persistent cookies does not remove cookies that are stored on client
computers. These cookies remain until they expire or are removed manually.
|
cleared |
Allow REST calls for XML/ATOM | If selected, the Rational
ClearQuest Web
application allows REST calls to retrieve change-request data. If cleared, the Rational ClearQuest Web application does not allow REST calls to retrieve change-request data. Important: Starting in ClearQuest V8.0,
support for the ClearQuest V7.1 REST API for XML/Atom
is deprecated. The ClearQuest OSLC CM REST API,
introduced in V7.1.2.2 and providing the same programmatic access to ClearQuest data, is the replacement. For more information on the ClearQuest OSLC CM REST API, see Programming with the Rational
ClearQuest OSLC CM REST API.
