Overview of change requests

Learn how to submit, modify, and transition change requests using the Rational® ClearQuest® Client.

The exercises in this module show you how to work with change requests. Development teams use change requests to record defects, requests for enhancements to existing features, and requests for new features. Rational ClearQuest stores change requests as records in a user database. In this module you will perform the following change request tasks:

  1. Submit a defect
    Follow the steps provided to learn how to submit a defect with the Rational ClearQuest Client.
  2. Modify a defect
    Learn how to make changes to existing records using the Rational ClearQuest Client.
  3. Transition a defect to another state
    Learn how to change the state of a change request and transition it through the development lifecycle.
  4. Use a template to submit defects
    Learn how to use templates and simplify the process of creating new records.
  5. Attach a file to a defect
    Learn how to create attachments in your change requests.
