Exporting data

To export data from a database-supported application other than Rational ClearQuest, you must use the database vendor tool. See Creating a Rational ClearQuest import file.

To export data from an existing Rational ClearQuest database, use the Export feature available in either the Rational ClearQuest Client. The Export wizard extracts data from a Rational ClearQuest database into a format optimized for the Import wizard.

To prevent data corruption, take care when exporting or importing data between databases that do not have the same data code page value. If imported data might corrupt the database, an error message is displayed.
