Clearing user and password settings

The BIRT report designer automatically saves the user name and an encrypted representation of the password in the report design (rptdesign) file. If you want to require each user to specify Rational® ClearQuest® credentials when they start the report from the Report Launcher, clear the user name and password settings from the report design before copying it to the report file server.

Procedure

To remove the credentials:

  1. Open the target report in the Business Intelligence and Reporting tools (BIRT) Report Designer.
  2. Expand the BIRT Data Sources, and select the target Rational ClearQuest data source.
  3. From the Properties viewer, clear the contents of the User Name and Password settings
  4. Save the report design.
