Propagating connection information to clients

If the connection information for Rational® ClearQuest® schema repositories or user databases has changed, propagate a new connection profile to Rational ClearQuest clients.

About this task

Use the next procedure to propagate connection information to Web server clients:

Procedure

  1. On a Windows administrative host running Rational ClearQuest, use the Maintenance Tool to export connection profiles, and then import the connection profiles to your clients.
  2. Run the cqreg refresh command on each install area used by Linux and UNIX system clients.
  3. For Linux and the UNIX system clients, use the cqreg drop_dbset and cqreg add_dbset commands to drop and re-create the database connection information.

Results

These steps propagate the connection information to the clients. The connection information is retained when the clients are upgraded to latest version.
