License Migration Utility

License files used with IBM Common Licensing 7.1.x and earlier or DevOps License Server TL 2.0 must be migrated to the IBM Common Licensing 8.1. required format. The format requires the vendor line to be "VENDOR ibmratl". You can use the License Migration Utility to migrate the license files. The utility is included with IBM Common Licensing 8.1.

To migrate license files:

1. At a command prompt, go to the DevOps Common Licensing common directory.
   Default locations for the common directory:

   • Windows: C:\Program Files\IBM\RationalRLKS\common
   • UNIX: <install_dir>/config/migrationutility
     Note: For UNIX, the license_setup script runs the License Migration Utility during the installation.
2. Run the command:
   • Windows: licmigrationutil.cmd
   • Unix: ./licmigrationutil.sh
3. Enter the path to the license file. Include the license file name in the path.
4. Press Enter. The license file is updated.

The migration utility creates a backup of the license file in the same directory as the license file. The extension for the backup license file is .bak. You can use the license file with DevOps Common Licensing 8.1 after the license file has been migrated.
