Vendor database configuration
Depending on whether you are deploying Rational ClearQuest or Rational ClearQuest MultiSite, configuration tasks and restrictions might vary. Review the following sections closely to identify these tasks and restrictions.
If you are installing Rational ClearQuest MultiSite, do not create Rational ClearQuest databases at the replica site. When replicating an existing Rational ClearQuest database set, you must create empty vendor databases at the new site. During the replication process, this empty database is converted to a Rational ClearQuest database set.
You can use databases from different vendors. For example, you might want to use Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases for your schema repository and user databases in the production environment, and a Microsoft Access database for your test database. However, if you are using Rational ClearQuest MultiSite , using databases from multiple vendors can create problems because case-sensitivity rules are not consistent across vendors.
