Mixed character-set deployments

Rational® ClearQuest® supports only one character set for a database set. However, Rational ClearQuest does allow connections to the database set even if the local code page of the client is different from theRational ClearQuest data code page of the database set. This support is called a mixed-character-set deployment.

In mixed-character-set deployments, all Rational ClearQuest applications can read and modify data according to the characters of the data code page.

Attention: Due to mixed character set considerations, there are limitations on Rational ClearQuest Mail Reader support for the Messaging API (MAPI) standard.
