About the Rational ClearQuest data code page

The Rational® ClearQuest® Data Code Page UI control is specified for each Rational ClearQuest database set. All user databases associated with a schema repository use the same Rational ClearQuest data code page as the schema repository. The setting enforces a single data code page for the database set and prevents characters excluded from that data code page from entering the databases.

Rational ClearQuest data code page and new schema repositories

If you are creating your new schema repository with the Maintenance Tool, the default Rational ClearQuest data code page is the data code page that corresponds to your local character set, if supported, or else to ASCII. However, you can set the data code page to any of the 13 supported code pages.

If you are upgrading Rational ClearQuest and your environment includes databases created with previous versions ofRational ClearQuest, check the Installing and upgrading section of the help to determine if the data code page needs to be set as part of the upgrade process.
