Remember-the-password feature and FIPS 140-2 approved encryption

This topic discusses the remember-the-password feature of the Rational® ClearQuest® Client and how to ensure that your deployment is using FIPS 140-2 compliant data encryption.

The remember-the-password feature on the Connect dialog box of the Rational ClearQuest Client allows passwords to be saved across user sessions. To use the remember-the-password feature and be FIPS 140-2 approved, all Rational ClearQuest Client computers must be configured to use the IBM® JRE with the IBM Java™ JCE (Java Cryptographic Extension) FIPS providers enabled to use the FIPS 140-2 approved algorithms AES 128-bit and SHA-256

Disable and re-enable the remember-the-password feature by using the installutil setmasterproperty subcommand.
